Will Russia Get Kamikaze Drones From China Soon?

There are signs that China’s support for Russia is growing beyond ordinary trade. There are indications that Beijing wants to supply the Russians with war materials without getting caught, US officials told CNN on Saturday. Now more details about China’s plans have emerged.

China’s top diplomat Wang Yi (69) and Russian President Vladimir Putin (70) met in Moscow on Thursday. Was the meeting also about arms deliveries?

According to “Spiegel”, the Russian military and Chinese drone manufacturer Xi’an Bingo Intelligent Aviation Technology are negotiating the production of kamikaze drones. The company reportedly agreed to produce 100 prototype ZT-180 drones.

The plane should be delivered in April. Each ZT-180 drone must be able to carry a warhead of 35 to 50 kilograms.

China apparently wants to supply the Russians with war material

The Chinese drones are similar to the Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. The aircraft from the Middle East were used, among other things, in attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kiev and in attacks on vital infrastructure throughout Ukraine. Attacks on residential buildings, power plants and district heating systems repeatedly killed civilians.

Bingo also plans to supply components and know-how to Russia with the aim of setting up production there. Then 100 drones per month should be manufactured in the Putin empire.

Standard drones are already being delivered to Russia. They are apparently used for reconnaissance in the war in Ukraine.

US government responds

That’s not all: according to “Spiegel”, last year a company controlled by the Chinese military planned to provide spare parts for Russian Su-27 fighter jets and other aircraft. This should be covered up by forging freight documents and disguising the spare parts as civil aviation parts.

It has long been known in security circles that Chinese companies are sending satellite images of the front in Ukraine to the Russian army. The US government responded – and placed two Chinese satellite companies on the sanctions list.

Top diplomat Wang Yi told German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64) that China is following the rules. China’s foreign ministry denied the drone deliveries. “We call on NATO to end unfounded speculation and defamation against China on the Ukraine issue,” it said. (nad)
