Duma deputy sharply criticizes Putin – with noodles on his ears

Before the fall of the Soviet Union, theaters in Moscow were always sold out. There was strict censorship. On stage, however, the Kremlin and the communists were wittily criticized without mentioning them by name. After the fall of the Soviet Union, when everything could be said openly, theater attendance plummeted. It lacked the humor and the bite of that time. Theater was suddenly more boring.

The action of a Russian Duma deputy is now reminiscent of those Soviet times. War President’s nearly two-hour speech Vladimir Putin (70) hours Tuesday the sheriff’s deputy listened head over heels. A clear gesture in Russia.

Michael Abdalkin, deputy head of the regional Duma of Samara, had spaghetti on his ears as he listened intently to Putin in front of the screen and continued to nod appreciatively to his president. Post next to a photo on Telegram Abdalkin also words of praise that he had never heard such a moving speech. He also shows his “enthusiasm” on YouTube. In fact, he shows an attitude full of cynicism and anger towards Putin without directly criticizing him.

Accuses Putin of lying

Hanging noodles on someone’s ears is a Russian idiom that means to lie to someone. And mail with noodles over your ears Abdalkin the text: On request, say: insistence of his Duma «I listened to the president’s two-hour speech. I totally agree with her, it was an excellent speech. I haven’t heard anything like it in 23 years. I was pleasantly surprised.”

Everyone in Russia immediately understands something Abdalkin actually thinks of Putin. Concrete: up Abdalkin He found it absurd, among other things, that Putin talked about Western plans to attack Russia.

The deputy sheriff from Samara on the Volga is also celebrated as a hero on social media. However, senior politicians demand his punishment. It seems his Duma colleague “had different views on Putin’s speech,” according to Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, (48), also from Samara. He hopes writes Khinshtein on Telegram, his “party friend is put in his place”.
