Airbus starts the year with few plane deliveries Migros buys Swiss cases of pharmacy chain Zur Rose

The largest aircraft manufacturer in the world, Airbus, started delivering new jets even more slowly in 2023 than a year earlier. In January, the group handed over 20 commercial aircraft to its customers, the group announced in Toulouse on Tuesday evening.

That was 10 fewer than in January 2022. In December, Airbus even delivered 98 machines in a final spurt, despite tight supply chains. In January, meanwhile, the manufacturer took orders for 37 commercial jets, but also had to accept a cancellation.

All in all, the European group, which is listed in Germany’s largest stock index Dax, missed its original target of 700 machines last year with a net delivery of 661 aircraft. CEO Guillaume Faury dropped this plan in early December due to bottlenecks at key suppliers.

However, Airbus 2022 was far ahead of its American competitor Boeing, which only delivered 480 aircraft due to problems with several aircraft types. CEO Guillaume Faury wants to announce how many aircraft deliveries Airbus plans for the current year when presenting the 2022 annual accounts on February 16. (sda/awp/dpa)
