João Paulo de Costa and his Swiss partner have four dogs. They all traveled from Zurich to the Philippines to participate in a dog show there.
On the return flight to Switzerland, they had a stopover in Istanbul. De Costa insisted on seeing his dogs there to make sure they were okay. “Where are my dogs? I want to see my dogs, they must not be missing,” the Brazilian called to the staff at the information desk.
Airline employees could not say where the dogs were. De Costa had a panic attack as staff ignored him. The video, uploaded to TikTok by a passenger, went viral. It now has over 2.3 million views.
De Costa and his Swiss wife had no unfounded concerns. They explained to “20 minutes” that their flight had been canceled twice. The second time it was said that the reason was a technical defect. The dogs could not be transported because there was no heating. Because of this, the two were afraid that the animals would be lost.
It wasn’t until the police arrived that staff showed the dogs, all of which were fine.
