German soldiers buried by avalanche in Tyrol – three injured Why Soledar could break Ukraine’s neck

In the Austrian mountains, several German soldiers were buried by an avalanche. According to police in Tyrol, the snow masses broke out on Tuesday when a 19-member Bundeswehr group built snow caves in the Stubai Alps.

As a result, five people were completely or partially buried under the avalanche, which was about 30 meters wide and 10 meters long. All were saved. Three people, aged 21 and 26, were injured and taken to hospital.

The researchers believe that the avalanche was caused by the digging of the temporary snow shelters at an altitude of 3150 meters, said a police spokesman for the German news agency. The soldiers came from the Bavarian Mittenwald. The spokesperson did not say which unit they belong to. The Tyrolean avalanche warning service warned on Tuesday of a significant danger in parts of the Austrian state.

Last June, a Bundeswehr soldier from the Special Forces Command (KSK) was killed by a rock avalanche while on mountain training in Tyrol. (sda/dpa)
