Rinhard Lleshaj (40) came to Switzerland from Albania as a baby and was already fascinated by the film world as a child. He eventually turned this passion into his profession. Today he is a successful stuntman, as reported by “Albora”, a news site for the Albanian-speaking diaspora in Switzerland.
Lleshaj was a guest on the “Fol Shqip Show”, an Albanian TV show, telling how he became a stuntman. “I’ve been interested in movies since I was little. In the Swiss village where I lived, there was an electronics store where movies cost 20 francs,” he says in the show. And when he had enough money, he would go to the store and get a movie, whatever it was.
He overcame more than 1000 candidates
He has always been athletic. Played football, learned boxing, did karate and kickboxing. As a teenager, he trained to avoid obstacles, even cars.
And then he entered a stuntman competition. “1,500 people took part in the competition and only ten of them were selected. Then I could really start as a stuntman’, says Lleshaj.
The stuntman has now worked on more than 40 films in Switzerland. He is also said to have been involved in Hollywood productions. He is thankful for his wife, who is the greatest support for him. (lrc)
