Son of kidnapped dictator in Argentina discovers Moroccan secret service recruited Eva Kaili’s partner and other EU politicians

Decades after his mother was kidnapped, another man has been identified as a victim of Argentina’s military dictatorship. The son of Mercedes del Valle Morales is the 132nd child of regime opponents who was taken from his parents and has now been found.

The human rights organization Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo (“Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo”) announced this on Wednesday (local time). The 131st child kidnapped was identified just under a week ago.

Human rights groups estimate that up to 30,000 government opponents, left-wing activists, trade unionists and students disappeared during the military dictatorship from 1976 to 1983. In the fight against alleged communist activities, security forces have killed countless people in secret prisons. Human rights activists also believe that about 500 babies and small children were given to foster parents by the military under false identities.

The man’s mother was abducted by state security forces in Tucumán province in May 1976, the grandmothers told the Plaza de Mayo. The woman was working on a farm at the time. Her nine-month-old son was then being raised by the owner of the farm. After the farm owner’s death, the man discovered he was not his biological father and submitted a DNA sample to state authorities to find his real parents. (sda/dpa)
