The heavily pregnant Alexandra R. (39) from Nuremberg (D) wanted to pick up her two-year-old daughter from the nursery, but did not return. Her disappearance made headlines across the country. There has been no trace of her for over two weeks. She left behind her documents: her wallet, her pregnancy passport and her identity card.
Her disappearance leaves authorities and family members at a loss. R. has many friends and a partner with whom she expects a child. She runs a Postbank branch and was currently on maternity leave.
Since there is still no information about their whereabouts, the police are now announcing a search in the Main-Danube Canal. This is reported by the portal “inFranken.de”. Something may have happened to the banker. Detectives suspect a violent crime.
Forests should also be searched
In connection with the case, authorities were able to obtain a green Renault Twingo before Christmas. According to a police spokeswoman, the search is now underway in the Main-Danube Canal, although there is no concrete evidence that the missing person has sunk in the canal.
“The logical consequence of the homicide commission investigating a possible violent crime is also the search in forests and waters,” said the spokeswoman for the portal.
The search in the waters near the house of the bank boss, who was eight months pregnant, had already started on Tuesday morning. Boats and divers will be deployed, and drones and body sniffer dogs should ease the search during the week. (dzc)
