Not much revelry in ex-President Donald Trump’s (76) Christmas message. In his diatribe, the few kind words are meant maliciously. He gets a lot of credit for himself for that.
On his social media platform Truth Social, Trump presented himself as a wrecking ball at Christmas. His Christmas greeting ends with three exclamation marks after the words: “The US is dying from the inside out!!!”
Trump’s Christmas blowout has it all. “Merry Christmas to everyone, including the radical leftist Marxists who are trying to destroy our country,” he says, irritably exasperated. Trump also cynically thanks the FBI, which “illegally forces everyone and pays the media to put a mentally retarded Democrat above the brilliant, psychic, and US-loving Donald J. Trump.”
“horror program”
What Trump means by psychic, he may explain himself. He remains convinced that he “won the presidential election in 2016 and did much better in 2020”. And shouts in capital letters: “Manipulated!” And conditions on the southern border with Mexico, currently overrun with migrants, are what Trump calls a “horror show.”
Perhaps the commission’s Jan. 6 final report on the 2021 Capitol insurrection has dampened Trump’s holiday mood. The report is a “hoax”. “I had almost nothing to do with January 6.” And then maliciously: “Love to all!”.
Counterpoint to Biden and Obama
In terms of tone, Trump’s Christmas greetings are decidedly different from those of his predecessor and successor. Former US President Barack Obama (61) wrote on Twitter: “Merry Christmas everyone! One of the best parts of the holiday season is spending time with the special people in our lives. I hope you all have a wonderful and happy Christmas.” Obama also posted a photo of his beaming family.
President Joe Biden, 80, tweeted a photo of himself and First Lady Jill, 71, with the words: “Jill and I hope everyone is able to spend time with family and friends over the holiday season. Missing a loved one this time.”
Trump’s “magic is gone”
According to American media, Trump would be a shadow of himself. He hides in Mar-o-Lago and rarely leaves the property. “Trump is sad, lonely, thirsty, broken and pretending to run for re-election,” headlines the US analytics portal “Intelligencer”. “The magic is gone.” (kes)
