Summer temperatures in large parts of Greece

As the National Weather Bureau announced on Saturday, the thermometer in Crete should read up to 25 degrees Celsius on Sunday. It’s been this hot for over six weeks. It is also warm at night in large parts of the country due to the humidity. It was a result of climate change, meteorologists unanimously said on the radio.

Tourists from Northern Europe were enthusiastic: “It is a dream for us. We arrived five days ago (in Athens) at minus twelve degrees Celsius and since then it has been warmer than 20 degrees. That is a difference of 32 degrees,” said a visitor from Estonia. Countless people went swimming in Crete on Saturday, according to state television.

In times of energy crisis, the warm days are welcome. You only need to heat a little or not at all, Athenians said on state television.
