Griner against But – spectacular prisoner exchange between Russia and the US Russia allegedly ordered hundreds of Iranian drones – the nightly update without photos

The US and Russia have agreed on a spectacular prisoner exchange. Viktor But, notorious arms dealer, is being extradited from the US to his native Russia.

In return, American basketball player Brittney Griner is released. Various media report this with reference from US authorities.

The exchange took place at Abu Dhabi airport, the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow announced. Griner is already on the plane on his way to the US.

Viktor Bout, also known as the “Dealer of Death”, conducted a global arms trade until his arrest in 2008, sometimes with direct opponents in wars. He was sentenced in 2011 to 25 years in prison and a $15 million fine.

Famous American basketball player Brittney Griner was arrested at a Moscow airport in February with a small amount of hashish and sentenced to nine years in prison by a Moscow court in early August.
