A record 54 attacks were reported on Sunday, the Defense Ministry in London said on Monday, based on intelligence findings. Ten people were killed last Thursday alone.
“The city is vulnerable because it is within range of most of the Russian artillery systems, which are now firing from the rear of newly fortified defensive lines from the east bank of the Dnipro River,” London said. Most of the damage was caused by multiple rocket launchers, such as the BM-21 Grad.
The British Ministry of Defense has been publishing information on the course of the war every day since the start of the Russian offensive war against Ukraine at the end of February, citing information from intelligence services. With this, the British government wants to both counter the Russian image and keep allies in line. Moscow accuses London of a disinformation campaign.
