According to the Ukrainian secret service, he intercepted a conversation between a Russian soldier and his father. In the phone call shared on Twitter, the soldier tells his father that 200 Russian men from his troops were said to have died in Ukraine.
The son criticizes the coverage in the Russian state media, which is limited to the successes of the Russian army during the invasion. Losses are not discussed there.

“On TV they say, ‘Everything is fucking great, we’re going to break this, we’re going to break that,'” says the father. And further: “Shit, that pisses me off. I don’t even want to turn on the news anymore.” The soldier replies that many people feel the same way and do not want to involve the Russian media anymore.
“Tell us how many of us perished!” says the soldier’s father desperately. The soldier then claims that there are rumors that 80,000 Russian soldiers have already been killed and rants about the distorted reports about the condition of the troops deployed in Ukraine.
When the Kremlin recently announced the number of casualties in September, it said nearly 6,000 soldiers had died. The Ukrainian army wrote on Twitter on Monday that more than 84,000 Russian soldiers had been “eliminated”. According to US Chief of Staff Mark Milley, about 100,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or wounded.
