The first to turn 80 in the White House: Joe Biden celebrates his birthday with the family “Discontent from all sides”: No agreement in sight at the climate conference

US President Joe Biden reportedly celebrated his 80th birthday with a family brunch on Sunday. The banquet was organized by his wife Jill, broadcaster CNN reports.

Further details about the birthday of the now oldest president in American history were not known. There was also no official information about it.

Biden is the first US president to turn 80 in the White House. The White House also seemed less than eager to draw attention to the age of the head of state.

Democrat Biden is considering running for president again and will make a decision early next year. There are voices in the Democratic Party calling for the path to be opened for a younger generation of politicians.

The wedding of Biden’s granddaughter Naomi was celebrated at the White House on Saturday. CNN reported, based on White House sources, that the date was not accidentally chosen on the same weekend as Biden’s birthday. (sda/dpa)
