Bloodshed at protests in Iran: 18 more dead – including a child Due to national security: British ban on Chinese takeover of chip manufacturers

At least 18 people were killed in one day during nationwide protests in Iran. “Security forces” used live ammunition against the demonstrators.

The brutal regime in Iran claims new victims every day. According to human rights groups, at least five protesters were killed by “security forces” in the northwest on Wednesday.

Both in the city of Bukan in West Azerbaijan province and in Sanandaj, the capital of Kurdistan province, “security forces” used live ammunition against demonstrators.

In the central metropolis of Isfahan, unknown persons are said to have killed three members of the Basij militias, state media reported. However, according to eyewitnesses, most of the protests in the city were peaceful.

In the southwest of the city of Iseh, unknown persons fired into a crowd with guns. The state news agency IRNA spoke of a “terrorist attack”.

Already 56 minor fatalities

However, eyewitnesses from the city denied the information provided by state media. According to residents, “security forces” opened fire in Iseh on Wednesday, killing at least 10 people, including a 10-year-old boy. As a result, the city in the province of Khusestan was without internet for almost a day.

At least 360 people have been killed in the protests so far, according to estimates by human rights activists. The dead included 56 minors and 46 “security forces,” the United States-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported.

About 16,000 people were also arrested. The protests — now referred to as revolutions — have affected more than 140 cities since they began.

The latest wave of protests against the authoritarian policies of the Islamic Republic was triggered by the death of Iranian Kurd Mahsa Amini. She died in police custody on September 16 after being arrested for violating Islamic dress codes. (sda/dpa)
