He submitted, but did not want to pay: We are talking about a 30-year-old Swiss man who allegedly brought thousands of euros to various hotels on the Spanish holiday island of Mallorca.
At the weekend, the Swiss was arrested by the Spanish police. As the newspaper “Diario de Mallorca” reports, he was arrested in a nightclub on the Paseo Marítimo promenade.
He demanded the bill and never came back
It was more of a coincidence that the man was arrested. As the newspaper reports, a hotel manager recognized his former guest at the bar in the nightclub in question. The Swiss would have spent four nights in his hotel and had a drink at the hotel bar.
However, he did not want to pay the bill of more than 3000 euros (equal to 2940 francs). Instead, he fled without paying. When the hotel manager happened to recognize the Preller guest in the club, he did not hesitate and called the police.
When this arrived, the Swiss confessed. It turned out that another restaurant in Mallorca fell victim to the man’s scam. There, too, the man did not pay a bill of 2,400 euros (converted to almost 2,360 Swiss francs). The Swiss came up with it all as follows: First he asked for the bill at the reception. When it was handed to him, he said he would smoke a cigarette outside. Instead, he stole away.
The Swiss are wanted in Austria
But the Swiss are said to have committed similar crimes not only in Mallorca, but also on the mainland. He is also being sought in Austria. This was revealed by further investigation by the police.
As the portal continues, there should also be indications that other hotels have also been affected by the Swiss scam. The investigations are still ongoing. (dzc)
