Putin sent plane to Tehran with 138 million cash

Russia and Iran are working together: A Russian military plane flew to Iran on August 20 with the equivalent of CHF 138 million in cash and a selection of British and American weapons captured by the Russians in Ukraine.

And for a very special company. In return, there were a bunch of Iranian drones. That’s what a secret Ukrainian source tells Sky News. In recent weeks, Iran has denied allegations that it sent drones to the Russian military. The government eventually admitted it had supplied Moscow with “a limited number of drones” – allegedly before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Western intelligence agencies claim otherwise. The drone exchange in August is to be confirmed by satellite images. Sky News reports that two Russian Illyushin Il-76 military aircraft can be seen at the airport in Tehran.

Iran wants to replicate western weapons

One of them is said to have transported the weapons and money. The captured western weapons would be a British anti-tank, and javelin– Anti-tank and a Stinger anti-aircraft missile. All three guns were delivered to Ukraine, but fell into Russian hands in battle.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, responsible for nipping political movements in the bud, could now study and copy Western weapon systems. “They will likely be replicated and used in future wars,” the unnamed source suspects.

Iran reportedly sent 160 unmanned aerial vehicles to Russia in exchange for money and weapons. Among them were probably 100 Shahed-136 drones, which are used to destroy energy infrastructure in Ukraine and terrorize the civilians.

Another money plane has to take off to Iran

The drones currently pose a major threat to Ukraine. While a single kamikaze drone can be easily fended off, Putin’s forces often use the drones in swarms. Ukraine is forced to use expensive Western anti-aircraft missiles to shoot down cheap Iranian drones. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (44) 40 percent of energy and water supplies have already been destroyed. With the new deal between Iran and Russia, Russian troops could give Ukraine a cold winter without electricity.

The deal in August would not have been the last agreement between Moscow and Tehran. According to US broadcaster CNN, Iran is already preparing to send 1,000 additional weapons and missiles to Russia. Among them would be other drones and short-range missile launchers. The Ukrainian secret source also speaks of a new agreement worth more than 200 million francs. (jwg)
