According to NBC News, West, who legally changed his name to simply “Ye” last year, has announced his suspension from social media platform Parler, which he also plans to take over.

A spokesperson for the meta-company, which also owns Instagram, confirmed to NBC that content had been removed from West’s profile because it repeatedly violated policy and the account was suspended as a result. There are currently only 11 entries visible on the musician’s profile.

According to West’s posts on Parler, he wanted to post a screenshot of a text exchange with Russell Simmons, co-founder of hip-hop label Def Jam, on Instagram. Simmons urged West, probably because of the self-inflicted turmoil that has surrounded him in recent days, to “get out of this fight” and “rebuild your business.”

West responded with a derogatory comment about “Jewish businessmen.” In the past, the musician had often attracted attention with anti-Jewish statements, which led to sports equipment manufacturer Adidas, among others, ending their collaboration with him.

According to West’s own statement, he has now been banned from Instagram for 30 days. In early October, the platform removed posts from West’s profile and restricted access to them. The short message service Twitter did the same. (against)
