A 25-year-old man stole a very special vehicle in Poland. In the night from Friday to Saturday he drove a tram from a depot in Katowice. The man has since been arrested.
The man gave the tram the non-existent line 33 and drove from Katowice to neighboring Chorzów. Along the way, he stopped at several stops where he picked up unsuspecting travelers.
In Chorzów, the tram attracted the attention of a real tram driver who thought that the tram was going very slowly. The non-existent line number also made the driver suspicious. He alerted his employer, who decided to turn off the tram’s power. The tram came to a halt in a market square.
The man was sober when he was arrested by police. Why he chose the tram is still unclear. The man is being held at the police station, where he is being questioned.
