Feyenoord’s first reaction was “very disappointed” about the unrest that broke out in Graz on Thursday evening over the Europa League game between Rotterdam and Sturm Graz.
Feyenoord fans kept a good home inside and outside the stadium after the game – losing 1–0 in extra time and destroying them.
In cooperation with Sturm Graz and the local authorities in Austria, the club will “collect as much information as possible and look at pictures in order to get a full overview of what happened” in the coming days. Then action is taken.
It’s certainly not the first time that Feyenoord supporters have let themselves go during their club’s game on the European stage. Last season, the Rotterdam club lost a total of more than 600,000 euros in fines after misconduct by their own fans.
Last month, UEFA banned fans from coming to Rome for the Europa League game against Lazio. This penalty was imposed by the European Football Association for riots in the semifinals against Olympique Marseille in the Conference League last season.
