At least seven dead after suicide attack in Pakistan Russian journalist arrested for reporting on Navalny

At least seven people have been killed in a suicide attack on a group of Chinese in Pakistan. The attack took place in the northwestern restive province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a police spokesman told the German news agency on Tuesday.

According to local police, a vehicle carrying engineers and workers from China was heading to a dam under construction in Shangla district when it was rammed by at least one assailant in another vehicle. The bomb explosion that followed killed five Chinese citizens and a Pakistani citizen, the driver of the attacked car. The attacker also died.

Initially, no one claimed responsibility for the crime. A few years ago there was a fatal attack on Chinese workers near the dam. A hydroelectric power station will be built there under Chinese management. According to the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack.

Attacks by militant groups have been increasing in Pakistan for some time now. In particular, the Pakistani Taliban (TTP), which despite ideological proximity is independent of the Taliban ruling Afghanistan, repeatedly carries out deadly attacks, especially on security forces.
