Amit Soussana (40) was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.

Amit Soussana, 40, was held by Hamas terrorists and describes his ordeal to the New York Times. The Israeli said that during her captivity she was repeatedly subjected to physical attacks, torture, humiliation and terrifying situations.

Her guard, whom she calls Mohammed, would sometimes enter her room, sit next to her on the bed, push up her shirt and touch her. But it got worse: one morning she wanted to wash in the bathroom when he showed up with a gun.

He dragged her to the bedroom

She wanted to cover herself with a towel, but was beaten by him. “He sat me on the edge of the bathtub. And I closed my legs. And I fought back. And he kept hitting me and pointing his gun in my face,” Soussana said. “Then he dragged me to the bedroom.” He forced her to perform a sex act on him at gunpoint.

According to their own statements, on October 7, 2023, terrorists from the Islamic organization Hamas brutally abducted the woman from kibbutz Kfar Aza, near the border with Gaza, to the coastal area. She was released in late November, when Israel and Hamas exchanged 110 hostages for about 400 Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas denies sexual attacks

According to the New York Times, her personal account of her experiences in captivity is consistent with what she told two doctors and a social worker less than 24 hours after her release on November 30. It was agreed with the victim that the details would not be made public.

The Islamist organization steadfastly denies that its militia members committed sexual crimes during the attack on southern Israel or in the handling of hostages, despite an overwhelming amount of circumstantial evidence proving this. A Hamas spokesman contacted by the New York Times denied that the woman’s statements were credible, describing them as “constructions of (Israeli) intelligence officers.”

Woman wants to draw attention to suffering

Victims of rape and sexual violence are traumatized and find it extremely difficult to speak publicly about what happened to them. The woman told the New York Times that she wanted to draw attention to the suffering of about a hundred hostages still in the hands of Hamas.

Terrorists from Hamas and other extremist groups attacked southern Israel on October 7. In an unprecedented massacre, they murdered 1,200 people and abducted another 250 to the Gaza Strip. Even during the attack, the terrorists committed massive sexual crimes against their victims. The report by a United Nations Special Representative finds statements by survivors, eyewitnesses and doctors credible. In the same report from early March, the information that sexual violence has been and continues to be committed against kidnapped hostages is considered convincing. (SDA/neo)
