Search for missing persons stopped: These are the victims of the bridge collapse in Baltimore

On Tuesday evening, a bridge collapsed in the American city of Baltimore, killing six people. Now the first details about the victims are becoming known.

Miguel L. of El Salvador was one of six missing people on the Francis Scott Key Bridge when it collapsed after colliding with a 900-foot freighter. A relative of L. tells Sky News that the family was desperately waiting for good news and had not given up hope until the end. He further stated that the police have brought all the relatives of the victims to one place so that they can support each other.

Jose Campos, a colleague of L., told Sky News: “I never thought something so terrible could happen.” His supervisor told him that the workers were missing and that the search had now been stopped.

Honduran Yassir S. has been identified as one of the missing workers when the bridge collapsed, according to Antonio García, Honduras’ deputy foreign minister. García stated that he had been in contact with S.’s family.

In a statement, Guatemala’s consulate said two of its citizens were missing, but did not release their names. The consulate also said Mexican nationals were working on the bridge, but did not say how many there were.
