‘Viacrucis migrant’ seeks free transit to leave Chiapas

“Walking is the most difficult, women suffer more from their legs, they take care of us, they give us medicine because I have a dry cough for several days with chest tightness,” she shared with EFE.

This group of people came out on the occasion of Holy Week, so they carry with them a wooden cross, which has become their symbol for continuing to walk along Federal Highway 200 Tapanatepec-Oaxaca.

“We just want a better future for my family and to be able to move forward. We plan to reach two cities and have our fellow migrants join the walk. We will try to get to Huixtle so that our fellow migrants can wait for us and we can continue,” they express.
