Now the worst time of the year begins on the world political stage: the power struggle between Biden and Trump. A battle that lasts a long time. Ridiculously long. Until November. Then we will know whether the world, which has already spiraled out of control today, will finally become a madhouse.
During this time, Christian fundamentalists from the thousands of free churches became the center of political attention. Because about 30 percent of Americans consider themselves evangelical. They receive support from right-wing conservative Catholics.
Experience has shown that the majority of God-fearing people side with gifted sinner Donald Trump, who considers women fair game and has been proven to have told more than 10,000 lies. And who suddenly acts like a savior sent by God.
This label literally screams to the heavens, which the Christian fundis should actually realize. Because in him there is no sign of Christian humility, charity and mercy.
Instead of turning the other cheek, he calls his political opponents vermin. He even jokes about party members who ask critical questions. You can’t be more self-centered.
Evangelicals don’t care about this narcissistic, inhumane behavior of their idol. They prefer to try the story of Saul, who mutated into Paul after his awakening experience. And they ensured that the small early Christian communities did not briefly appear as sects in world history, but could grow into the largest church.
Today’s evangelicals are overlooking the fact that Trump is, at best, a campaign Christian who puts a halo over his voluminous hairstyle for tactical reasons. They also don’t care that Trump encouraged the mob to storm the Capitol after the election loss to prevent Biden’s inauguration.
Trump pocketed the Christian Fundis eight years ago during the election campaign with three tactical tricks. He slipped into the role of a devout Christian, emerged as a staunch opponent of abortion, and during his time in office moved the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to the holy city of Jerusalem, where the history of redemption was supposed to be completed. .
His miraculous transformations cost him next to nothing, but earned him the votes he needed to defeat Hillary Clinton. Not to mention that the narcissist felt flattered to be revered as a follower of Jesus by Christian hardliners.
What worked eight years ago is now about to be repeated. The devout Christians must solve it again. This unholy alliance could have much more serious consequences this time, because Trump now has a clear agenda that his vassals are painstakingly working towards: the abolition of democracy.
He makes no secret of it, and the hardcore evangelicals are happy about it – they have long dreamed of a theocracy in which religious ideas and goals take precedence over the Constitution.
During his political mission, Trump has already taken over the Republican Party in one fell swoop. He has already managed to get rid of his internal party critics Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney.
Ronna McDaniel, chair of the influential Republican National Committee, was also recently affected. Part of her downfall was the fact that she is Mitt Romney’s niece. Trump fan Michael Whatley was installed in her place, and Trump installed his daughter Lara as vice.
When it came to the election of the speaker of the House of Representatives, Trump and his aides also managed to put loyal companion Mike Johnson on the shield. This move got many devout Christians on board, as Johnson is a staunch evangelical. He described the abortions as an “American Holocaust.”
Trump has already revealed how he wants to consolidate his power as the new old president and rebuild America: by cleaning up the offices and appointing his loyal aides as chief officials. There will certainly be devout Christians among them.
The influence of Trump and his Christian followers is so great that evangelical leaders are no longer afraid to publicly proclaim the idea of theocracy and Christian nationalism.
For example, right-wing hardliner Jack Posobiec said at the Conservative Political Action Conference: “We must bury democracy and put an end to what started on January 6, 2021. All glory does not belong to the government, all glory belongs to God.”
The nationwide fight by devout Christians against abortion is indicative of the radical atmosphere characterized by Trump. With the wind at the presidential candidate’s back, they launch new campaigns.
Alabama Chief Justice Tom Parker has ruled that fertilized human eggs are considered “persons.” Anyone who destroys it may face legal action.
The background: During in vitro fertilization, excess cells are created that can no longer be removed. In his justification, Parker included quotes from the Bible that people should have reverence for God, who created us in his own image.
The American fundamentalists who pursue a theocracy are betraying the ideals of their ancestors. They fled Europe because they were persecuted for their faith.
To be better protected as a minority, they successfully fought for religious freedom. Now, thanks to Trump, they have become a political force and want to consign their past achievements to the dustbin of history.
If Trump and the evangelicals enter the election campaign hand in hand, things will get dark. The communists Putin and Xi Jinping are already rubbing their hands in anticipation and flooding the US with fake news. If the ‘Christian’ Trump wins, the lights will go out in half the world.
