Barnett worked for Boeing for 32 years.

Because he expressed his safety concerns, John Barnett (†62) had to testify against his former employer Boeing in March. After an initial appointment, the ex-manager no longer shows up – shortly afterwards he is found dead in his truck. According to the medical examiner, he shot himself.

Barnett’s lawyer already expressed doubts that his client had committed suicide. Now Jennifer spoke out to ABC News 4. She was good friends with John Barnett. In a conversation, the 62-year-old had already revealed to her that he lived dangerously – and would not commit suicide.

‘He loved his family too much’

Jennifer asked Barnett if he was “not scared.” “No, I’m not afraid,” he replied. “But if something happens to me, it won’t be suicide.” These new statements make the ex-manager’s death even more mysterious.

For Jennifer it is clear: “I know he didn’t commit suicide. That’s impossible.” He loved life and the people around him way too much: “He loved his family too much. He loved his brothers too much to put them through what they’re going through.”

“Making it look like suicide”

The colleague believes that someone “didn’t like what he had to say” and wanted to “silence him without anyone knowing.” That’s why they made it “look like suicide.”

Despite his statements, John Barnett’s former employer was saddened by the death. “We are saddened by the passing of Mr. Barnett and our thoughts are with his family and friends,” Boeing wrote in a statement. (obf)
