An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 struck the border area between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. According to the American Earthquake Observatory USGS, the epicenter of the earthquake was about 30 kilometers from the Montenegrin town of Niksic and about 25 kilometers from the Bosnian city of Bileca on Thursday morning.
Information about possible damage or injury was initially not available. According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 7.6 kilometers and was felt in areas including the Bosnian capital Sarajevo.
A magnitude 5.7 earthquake in the same region in April 2022 left one person dead and several injured. Earthquakes occur again and again in the Balkan states. (AFP)
