“I don’t want anything to do with him anymore”: Now the mother of the Maddie suspect speaks

Madeleine McCann, better known as Maddie, has been missing for seventeen years. In May 2007, the then three-year-old child disappeared from an apartment in Portugal. Since then, researchers have assumed the worst.

The main suspect in the case is Christian B.* (47). The German has had to appear in court since mid-February. In addition to Maddie’s kidnapping and murder, the Public Prosecution Service also accuses him of raping three women and two counts of sexual harassment.

“Said goodbye”

Christian’s adoptive mother Brigitte B.* has remained silent until now. Now reporters from the British ‘Sun’ visited the woman who raised the alleged rapist.

In her hometown in Franconia (D), the German finds clear words for her adopted son: “I don’t want anything to do with him anymore,” she explains to reporters. “As far as I know, I said goodbye to him.”

The words of his adoptive mother should not be so bad for Christian B.. Family friends had reported to ‘Bild’ that B.* and his brother had been beaten and abused by the adoptive parents. The relationship has never been good.

A friend told the newspaper: “Once she hit his head on the table. Another time he wet himself. Then his father pulled down his pants and hit him with the belt. When the boy started to cry, the father said, ‘If you cry, you’ll get some more.’” (obf)
