The continued warning actions of ground staff also led to numerous cancellations of Lufthansa flights on Friday. Once again, only 10 to 20 percent of the originally scheduled flights will take place, a company spokesperson said Friday. This means that around 1,000 flights will be canceled again, mainly at the hubs of Munich and Frankfurt.
In Frankfurt and Hamburg, passengers were allowed to board again on Friday, after security zone checkpoints remained closed the day before due to an additional strike by security staff. Verdi wants to continue the strike until 7:10 am on Saturday morning. Lufthansa therefore expects initial delays and some cancellations for Saturday. Air traffic should then return to normal during the morning. (sda/awp/dpa)
