Pentagon leaker pleads guilty – he faces nearly 17 years in prison Close: Police have discovered the hideout of RAF terrorists

22-year-old Jack T., a National Guardsman in the US Air Force, has pleaded guilty to leaking classified Pentagon data. The BBC reported this on Monday evening.

Here’s the background:

T. had posted secret maps, satellite images and intelligence data online several times in 2022 via a Discord server. The young man was arrested in April last year.

He has now pleaded guilty to six charges of “intentionally retaining and communicating national defense information”. Each case carries a maximum prison sentence of ten years.

However, with his confession, T. has made a deal with the Public Prosecution Service, whereby they “only” demand a total prison sentence of 200 months, or 16 years and eight months. He must also pay a fine of $50,000.
