The rich and famous in Russia have been pilloried time and again lately: when they party too wildly and celebrate publicly on the Internet, supporters of the war in Ukraine see this as an insult to the soldiers on the battlefield. for their interests. the country risks their lives.

This causes a stir, especially when the moral guardians are alarmed by a lot of naked skin. The latest scandal centers on fetish parties in the city of Yekaterinburg. The Blue Velvet club with more than 300 members celebrated twice in the officers’ house last November. The problem: This is where senior military officers who died in the war in Ukraine are usually honored.

“This is blasphemy”

Government activist Ekaterina Ipatova is outraged: “We consider it unacceptable to hold such events in the officers’ house. There are nightclubs for parties, but holding them in the officers’ house is blasphemy.” There they finally say goodbye to the soldiers who died in the special military operation – according to the official Russian language for the war in Ukraine.

Ipatova has filed a complaint with the responsible prosecutor’s office, the Russian portal E1.ru writes. “The partygoers were said to be wearing transparent underwear, drinking alcohol and using drugs,” the report said. Leaked photos and videos that participants shared online in closed groups also show what happened at the parties.

The deputy chairman took off his hat

The deputy chairman of the House of Officers, Georgy Podkorytov, has since resigned over the scandal. The smear campaign against the officers’ house made him feel uncomfortable, Podkorytov said. According to him, the Speaker of the House of Officers approved the fetish party. But Podkorytov admits: “Because of the shared power, I was also involved in this scandal.”

A party at the Moscow club Mutabor last December also left red heads. The guests appeared there almost naked, wearing transparent tops or pants. The images of this went viral and caused a furore among conservative forces. Russian rapper Vacio, who appeared to be wearing only a sock, was jailed for 15 days for “promoting non-traditional sexual relations.” He was then called up for military service. (no)
