The police are looking for sympathizers of Reich citizens: mother has been in hiding with her daughter and son for months

They reject the German constitutional state and want to use their name to distinguish themselves from the “Federal citizens”: the Reich citizens do not see themselves as part of the Federal Republic of Germany, but as supporters of the German Empire. This also applies to a mother (45) from Ahlen, North Rhine-Westphalia. Since August 2022, there has been no trace of her, nor of her daughter (then 9) and her son (then 15), the German television channel RTL reports. One thing is clear: the 45-year-old is said to be active in the Reichsbürger scene, the police confirm.

The father, who has the right to determine the place of residence of their daughter, also does not know where the mother could take her children. A neighbor of the woman tells RTL that she disappeared hastily. The reason: the youth care agency wanted to take her children away. But the 45-year-old had been exhibiting strange behavior even before her disappearance, repeatedly putting up posters in the stairwell.

The police last searched for the mother in November 2023. “The photo of the then 44-year-old is from 2018. It is impossible to say to what extent her appearance has changed since then,” a report said. The mother is now 45, the children are 10 and 16 years old. When asked by RTL, the police cannot currently confirm whether the woman and her children could be abroad.

Switzerland as a new meeting place

In 2023, rumors spread that a group of Reich citizens wanted to meet in St. Gallen. Swiss citizens wanted to build their own parallel state – their motto was ‘alignment’, ‘building’, ‘networking’. They had completely new structures in mind, with their own constitution and currency. An offshoot of the Kingdom of Germany (KRD) would be created under the leadership of the “King of Germany”, a project that the Reich citizens had been working on for some time.

The ‘King of Germany’, also known as Peter the Son of Man, gave himself his title and name. His real name is Peter Fitzek (58) – and he is from Saxony. He also has about 7,000 followers there. The group created an anti-democratic universe in 2012, with properties in Saxony, an alternative “E-Mark” and health insurance for the unvaccinated. (mgf)
