The lawyer of late Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has been arrested. He was taken into custody in Moscow on Tuesday, several Russian media reported. Last week, lawyer Vasily Dubkov accompanied his mother, Ludmilla Navalnaya, to the “Polar Wolf” prison camp, where Navalny died.

Navalny died unexpectedly ten days ago. According to Russian authorities, natural causes led to the death. They refused an international examination of the body. Navalny was for years the Kremlin’s fiercest critic. He mainly criticized corruption and greed and described the state leadership as “crooks and thieves”. His posts online have been viewed millions of times. He was sentenced to more than 30 years in prison.
