No one is actually allowed to know where the beautiful country house of the English aristocratic Catton family from the streaming hit ‘Saltburn’ is located. However, Charles Stopford Sackville (63) – the real owner of the 700-year-old English estate – underestimated the curiosity of the film audience.

All people involved in the production would have been obliged to reveal the name of the house. That didn’t help. Tatler magazine recognized the filming location from the trailer.

There is a public path through the property, but ‘Saltburn’ fans now often stray from it, Sackville says. “Most people are very well behaved, but some are a bit too nosy,” the homeowner told the Mail on Sunday. He has already arrested “more than 50” offenders at other locations on the site. “I could never have imagined how great the interest would be. It’s very strange,” he added.

The castle, called Drayton House, has been in the family since the 18th century. It is located in the English county of Northamptonshire, between London and Birmingham. A large part of the film, directed by Emerald Fennell (38), takes place in the building.

The plot: Young Oxford student Oliver falls in love with his wealthy fellow student Felix. The fellow students spend a summer on the ‘Saltburn’ estate. There, Oliver devises various intrigues against Felix and his family, until he finally loses them and ends up owning the entire estate.

Sackville does not consider the fact that dozens of people are currently filming and photographing themselves around the castle as ‘flattery’. He now has his employees patrol the area.

Sackville says he was paid a fair amount for filming in the 127-room mansion. He does not want to say exactly how much money is involved.
