Taylor Swift’s father allegedly punched photographers in Sydney. This is where pirates most often attack ships – the hotspot is no longer Africa

The father of American pop star Taylor Swift is said to have run over a photographer in the Australian city of Sydney. According to a police spokeswoman, the incident took place around 2:30 am (local time) on Tuesday.

Police were told that a 71-year-old allegedly attacked a 51-year-old on the Neutral Bay Wharf pier on Tuesday evening, a police spokeswoman told the AFP news agency on Tuesday. “The younger man reported the incident and the investigation is ongoing.”

As is usual in such cases, police have not provided any further details about the identities of those involved.

The photographer told AFP he was attacked by Swift’s father. According to his own statements, he photographed the singer on a ‘superyacht’ in the city bay after her last of four concerts in Sydney.

As Taylor Swift walked along a pier to a waiting vehicle, security guards tried to stop him from taking photos of the superstar with an umbrella. After the 34-year-old singer left, he was approached by a man. “He hit me in the face,” the photographer told AFP. “I didn’t know who he was, but I was looking at pictures and saw him holding Taylor’s hand and it was her dad.”

Taylor Swift is currently in the middle of her highly successful ‘Eras’ tour. After their performances in Sydney, the next concerts will be in Singapore. (sda/afp)
