Court: Trial against Alec Baldwin scheduled for July Hungarian parliament says yes to Sweden’s accession to NATO – key points

The trial of American actor Alec Baldwin (65) on charges of negligent homicide will take place in July. The responsible court in the US state of New Mexico announced this on Monday (local time). The trial begins on July 9 with jury selection. Initially, a negotiation period was set until July 19.

Following the death of a camerawoman in a shooting incident on the set of the western “Rust” in October 2021, Baldwin was indicted by a grand jury in mid-January. A short time later he pleaded “not guilty.”

Since last week, weapons master Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who was partly responsible for weapons and safety on the set during the filming of ‘Rust’, has been on trial in New Mexico. She is also accused of negligent homicide in the ongoing criminal trial.

Baldwin, who starred in and produced the film, was wielding a gun while rehearsing a scene when a shot was fired. Camerawoman Halyna Hutchins was fatally shot. It is unclear how the live ammunition ended up on the set. Baldwin has always denied responsibility for the fatal accident. If convicted, the Hollywood star could face up to 18 months in prison.
