“Star Trek” Star Kenneth Mitchell Dies at the Eurovision Song Contest at Just 49: Is Israel’s Entry About Hamas Terror?

Actor Kenneth Mitchell died on Saturday in Los Angeles, American media report. He was 49 years old. Mitchell became known for his roles in ‘Star Trek: Discovery’ and ‘Captain Marvel’. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two children, aged 11 and 16.

Mitchell had suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a degenerative nerve disease, for years. The family confirmed the actor’s death via a post on Instagram. “Ken always worked hard and was passionate about everything he tackled,” it reads.

«These qualities found their greatest fulfillment in his role as father. He was extremely committed to enriching his children’s lives with creativity and self-confidence, even as his illness took its toll. “Ken will forever be proud of what his children have become,” the message continued.

“He looked at every day as a gift.”

The actor made his illness public in an interview with People magazine in 2020. He was diagnosed with ALS in 2018. Since 2019 he has been dependent on a wheelchair. The disease also forced him to give up the leading role in a series in which he starred.

“For five and a half years, Ken faced a series of terrible challenges as a result of his illness, but he overcame them all in typical Ken style: with dignity and dedication. He lived a full life and enjoyed it. He considered every day he lived a gift and was certain he would never be alone,” his family wrote in a farewell post on Mitchell’s Instagram page.
