Massacre in the brothel – Three women stabbed to death in Vienna. Smoking weed will be legal in Germany from April 1

After the violent deaths of three women in a brothel in Vienna, the events and motive for the crime remain unclear. According to police, a 27-year-old suspect was questioned on Saturday. The man was arrested on Friday evening in a green area near the crime scene. He behaved aggressively and was therefore put out of action with an electric stun gun, a police spokesperson told the Austrian news agency APA on Saturday. The Afghan man still had the suspected murder weapon, a knife, with him. According to police, the man had lacerations that he probably inflicted on himself while committing the crime.

Serious cuts and stab wounds

When officers arrived, they saw a horrific scene. According to the information, the women who died had serious cuts and stab wounds, so that it was clear to emergency services when they entered the crime scene that medical assistance for the victims came too late. A fourth employee of the studio had locked himself in a room, the police spokesman said. She has now been interviewed as an earwitness.

The police spokesman said the crime took place in different rooms and the bodies were found in different rooms. The victims, who have not yet been identified, were treated with extreme violence.

According to current knowledge, the 27-year-old was the last visitor to the studio. It was still unclear whether the man used services there or directly attacked the women with a knife.

The police were alerted by a passerby who noticed a trail of blood. It stretched from the restaurant entrance to the other side of the street. There the officers found the 27-year-old.

In light of the recent deadly attacks on women – a 13-year-old and her mother were also murdered in Vienna on Friday – Social Democrats in the federal government called for a national action plan to protect against violence. Every third woman in Austria is affected by violence, said SPÖ women’s chairwoman Eva-Maria Holzleitner. (sda/dpa)
