“Traumatic amputation”: Woman in Peru cuts off sleeping partner’s penis

In the Peruvian city of Chota in Cajamarca, there is currently only one conversation about the city: the bloody act of nurse Marleni C.* (39). She has been living with biologist Iván S.* (39) for four years, the two have a three-month-old child.

On Monday evening, Iván S. came home drunk and a heated discussion broke out about the man’s alleged infidelity, Peruvian media report. When her partner fell asleep, Marleni C. grabbed the kitchen knife – and cut off his penis.

After the crime, she took her husband to the hospital, but claimed he inflicted the wound on himself. But even though Ivan S. was barely conscious, he could still say that the crime had been committed by his partner.

The man is in critical condition

Iván S. is currently receiving medical care, is apparently in critical condition and is being transferred to Lima. He will receive psychiatric care there. Authorities said he suffered a “traumatic amputation.”

Marleni C. was not arrested because she had to care for the couple’s three-month-old child, the local prosecutor’s office said, according to AFP. The results of the reports would be awaited to determine the motive and circumstances.

“We are shocked, we want justice,” the man’s uncle told local media.

Not the first case

A similar act took place in Brazil late last year. A woman cut off her husband’s penis and flushed it down the toilet because he sexually assaulted her niece.

The act is reminiscent of the infamous 1993 case of John Wayne Bobbitt in the US, whose penis was cut off by his wife Lorena while he slept. According to her, he had raped her before. The limb was sewn back to Bobbitt. Bobbitt later became a porn actor and then a priest. (neo)
