The photos from Bucha shocked the world in March. Men and women lay lifeless in the street. Not soldiers, but civilians. Not an isolated case. Several mass graves have since been discovered after the departure of Vladimir Putin’s troops (70). Some bodies showed signs of torture. Survivors speak of rape. Russia has categorically denied the war crimes charges.
Anton Krasovsky (47), moderator at Russia Today (RT), now shocks with an inhumane statement. He demands that Putin’s troops drown Ukrainian children. During an interview with author Sergei Lukyanenko, 54, the moderator said that children who criticize Russia should be thrown “straight into a river with a strong current.”
Lukyanenko previously said that he visited Ukraine in the 1980s and that children told him they would have a better life if the Russians had not occupied their land. Too much for Krasovsky, who angrily said that these children should have been killed. “Just drown these kids, drown them.” Alternatively, the Russians could have put the little ones in huts and burned them. He also denied Ukraine’s right to exist, called for the shooting of Ukrainians and downplayed rape.
«Ban Russia worldwide today»
The scene quickly made it to Twitter, causing horror. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba (41) wrote about the fragment on Twitter that governments that have not yet banned Russia Today should look at this scene. This is clearly a “call to genocide”. His demand: “Ban Russia Today worldwide.”
The EU banned Russian state television Russia Today in early March because of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine. RT has already responded. Krasovsky was suspended for his “disgusting comments”, according to RT boss Margarita Simonyan (42). She emphasized that Russia Today does not share the opinion of her deposed presenter. She wished the children in Ukraine, the children in Donbass and all the other children that the war would end as soon as possible.
This is how the moderator explains his shock statement
Once considered a liberal journalist, Krasovsky has repeatedly attracted attention in recent years for his glorification of violence. Only in early October did he comment on the massive rocket attacks on Ukraine, which left 14 dead and 100 injured, saying he was happy now. “I’m dancing on the balcony in a nightgown that says ‘Russian Army’,” he explained.
The fired moderator said on Monday that he regretted crossing the line. Sometimes he gets too carried away with his programs, justifying his blunders.
Krasovsky made headlines around the world in 2015 for confessing to being gay on camera. “I am gay and like you, my dear viewers, or President Putin, Prime Minister Medvedev and the deputies of the Duma,” the TV host said. The termination followed just hours later. Now he is out of his job again. (yeah)
