Transport of “The Crown” auctioned for 61,000 francs 117 dead cats found in house in France

A London auction house has auctioned off props and costumes from the series “The Crown”. A gold-colored carriage brought in about 56,000 pounds (about 61,000 francs) including fees on Wednesday.

The replica of the ‘Gold State Coach’ was one of the more expensive and difficult to produce props, according to auction house Bonhams. A replica of the chair from the coronation scene was auctioned for almost £26,000 including fees, an old Jaguar for around £70,000 and a ring modeled on Princess Diana’s engagement ring for around £7,700.

The entrance to the government headquarters in Downing Street in London was also recreated for the series. The ticket number including the bonus came to around £11,000, which was less money than expected. A total of around 450 objects will be auctioned at the auction, the online part of which will run until next Thursday.

The series ‘The Crown’ told the lives of the British royal family – especially Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022) for six seasons. Auction house Bonhams has now put a number of objects from the recordings under the hammer.

Proceeds will be used to support a grant program for filmmakers. Elaborately designed costumes, pieces of furniture, specially produced paintings and other objects were also auctioned. (sda/dpa)
