After pipeline sabotage: Sweden closes investigation into Nord Stream

class=”sc-cffd1e67-0 iQNQmc”>

The case is closed.

Swedish prosecutors said on Wednesday they have decided to close their investigation into the September 2022 explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipelines. The Swedes do not see the responsibility as their own.

The pipelines were built to transport Russian natural gas to Germany. An investigation was not only underway in Sweden. There are also proceedings underway in Germany and Denmark.

At the end of September 2022, several explosions were recorded near the Danish Baltic Sea island of Bornholm and a little later four leaks were discovered in three of the four lines of the Nord Stream pipelines. Subsequently, investigations were started in Sweden, but also in Germany and Denmark. (SDA)
