The trial lasted approximately three and a half years and the verdict has now been handed down. Arafat Abou-Chaker, the former manager of Bushido, gets away with a fine. This amounts to 81,000 euros. This means he avoids a prison sentence. The court did not consider it proven that the suspect wanted to blackmail the rapper into paying millions.
Abou-Chaker was charged with several crimes, including false imprisonment, attempted extortion and grievous bodily harm. His lawyers had asked for an acquittal.
His brothers Rommel, Nasser and Yasser Abou-Chaker were also charged. The former were acquitted and in the case of Yasser Abou-Chaker there was even talk of a prison sentence.
