Attacked by Masked People: Now the block kids are talking about the kidnapping

Suddenly they were grabbed by masked people and thrown into a car. They had to go into the woods and were handcuffed shortly afterwards. The children fought back, but they had no chance.

There are frightening details that the son (10) and daughter (13) of Christina Block (44) reported to Zeit. For the first time they talk about the fateful night that changed everyone. They were kidnapped on New Year’s Eve. They were in Denmark at the time with their father, the ex of the steakhouse chain heiress.

Because: The Hamburg entrepreneur and her ex-husband (49) have been fighting in court for years over the custody of two of their four children. The two children have been living with their father in Denmark for more than two years, although a court in Hamburg has temporarily transferred the right of residence to the mother. Apparently the children were then forcibly transferred to Germany. In ‘Zeit’ the two children talk about the kidnapping, with the permission and presence of their father.

Brought to a farm

When they were kidnapped and tied up by the masked men, they tried to allay their fears. They would take her to her mother. Everything would be fine. The masked people allegedly searched them several times because they were afraid of a hidden GPS tracker. Then we spent a few hours in the car. Finally they were allowed outside. They were taken to a farm in southern Germany. Masked people were already waiting there. The children were then allowed to spend the night in one room.

The next morning, Christina Block and her sister showed up. Then they rode together again in a car with blacked-out windows. Another few hours. Danger is a masked man. Before they got home, they allegedly switched cars again. At least that’s what the kids describe.

The police are investigating Mother Block

The fact is: two days after their disappearance, the Hamburg police reported that the children were in the care of their mother and were not in danger. In mid-January, the Hamburg High Court (OLG) issued a preliminary injunction requiring Block to return the children to their father in Denmark. He had therefore submitted a corresponding application. According to the court, the children were immediately handed over to their father.

Meanwhile, the police are investigating. Block’s home was apparently searched in mid-January. The Hamburg Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating “due to the events on New Year’s Eve against several people, including Block, on suspicion of kidnapping minors and other crimes.” The Public Prosecution Service and the police are still trying to ‘clarify the entire complex’ about what happened.

Block is the daughter of the Hamburg catering entrepreneur Eugen Block. He founded a group of companies with 2,700 employees, including the Block House and Jim Block restaurant chains. According to media reports, Block’s three children are involved in the group of companies, but do not perform operational tasks. (jmh/AFP)
