An idyllic bay on a blue lake in the middle of the Russian forest. Next to it is a huge building with a futuristic appearance and well-maintained landscaping. When it comes to the secret assets of Russian President Vladimir Putin (71), rumors are constantly circulating.

Although Putin denies to his people that he owns large estates, many are asking the question: how many secret luxury estates does the Russian president really own? New drone images show for the first time Putin’s alleged estate on Lake Ladoga, north of the Russian city of Saint Petersburg. Nothing was known about the property for a long time – until now.

Investigative journalists from the medium Dossier Center around Kremlin-critical entrepreneur Mikhail Khodorkovsky (60) think that the recordings could be Putin’s secret luxury residence. Satellite images from Google also reveal the luxury property.

The investigation is explosive because Putin has always told his people that he does not live in luxury. However, experts believe that Putin collected as much as 200 billion euros in the more than twenty years he was in power in Europe’s most corrupt country, which would make him one of the richest people.

Putin officially earns around 140,000 francs a year, and his real estate in Russia and abroad is not even mentioned in his income declarations.

Huge glass fronts, dining room of 200 square meters

The property near St. Petersburg consists of three houses that have a futuristic design with large glass fronts. Each of them has its own helicopter landing site. There is also a pier for small ships on the lake. The president would stay there during the summer holidays.

The area will extend over four square kilometers and will even house its own trout farm in the lake. This is evident from secret emails from a Russian interior design agency. The dining room alone should be 200 square feet.

The bathrooms are also specially decorated. Each bidet would have cost almost $11,000, and $4,600 was spent on the shower heads.

Own waterfall

According to the Dossier Center, from the back of one of the houses you have a beautiful view of a waterfall that is actually part of a national park. The investigation all seems to prove Putin’s enormous wealth.

In 2016, journalists first reported about the estate, which is located near the Finnish border. The Kremlin at the time denied any connection to Putin. However, among locals the building is known as ‘Putin’s Dacha’.

And Putin’s protection must also be assured: there would be a military defense facility in one of the grassy hills.

There is no formal confirmation that the property belongs to Putin. However, research by the Putin-critical broadcaster Dozhd showed that the Kremlin had acquired the property from one of Putin’s trusted oligarchs.
