Andrew Tate is banned from leaving Romania. Power struggle between Zelensky and commander-in-chief + Russian war economy overheated

The influencer, who is accused of human trafficking and rape, loses his appeal against the travel ban in Romania.

The controversial Andrew Tate remains in Romania. A Romanian court has rejected the 37-year-old influencer’s appeal, which aimed to relax judicial control measures. The Court of Appeal in Bucharest thus confirmed a judgment of another court. As a result, the travel ban was extended by 60 days on January 18.

Brothers Andrew and Tristan Tate and two Romanian women are accused of running a human trafficking ring. They allegedly used the loverboy method to lure young women and then force them to produce pornographic material.

All four were arrested over a year ago near Bucharest. Formal charges were filed against all of them in June last year. After initially spending three months in police custody, they were placed under house arrest.

The case is currently in the front room. There the suspects can challenge the prosecutor’s evidence. Tate still vehemently protests his innocence and believes there is a political conspiracy to silence him. He repeatedly insults with misogynistic statements and that is why he has already been banned from various social media platforms.

However, he is still active on Twitter, where he regularly shares his wisdom with his followers. For example:

A small success in court

Tate managed to score a small victory in court this month: his appeal against the seizure of his assets by the Romanian authorities was approved. In the weeks following his arrest, 15 luxury cars, 14 designer watches and cash in various currencies worth approximately €3.6 million were seized. The Combating Organized Crime Authority explained the move by saying the assets could be used for investigations and compensation for any victims. However, this is only possible if it can be proven that the assets were obtained through illegal activities.
