It is unlikely that AfD politician Alice Weidel will be happy. Your party is losing support after last weekend’s mass protests.

It is the biggest drop in the polls in two years: the Alternative for Germany (AfD) has lost support in recent days. This is evident from an opinion survey commissioned by ‘Bild’.

It is unlikely that AfD leaders Alice Weidel (44) and Tino Chrupalla (48) are in a good mood. They and their party lost 1.5 percentage points and their approval rating fell from 23 to 21.5 percent.

The research boss classifies: “The demonstrations against the AfD are supported by 37 percent of Germans. They have an impact. However, the party remains the second strongest force, eight points behind the social democratic SPD.

The current government is unpopular despite the loss of the AfD

However, the loss of the AfD does not mean that the current traffic light government will benefit from it. The government of Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65, SPD) has only 31 percent. This means that the country has lost more than 20 percent compared to the federal elections. The CDU and CSU (30.5 percent) and the free voters (2.5 percent) each lost half a percentage point compared to the previous week.

The Left Party is moving further and further away from the five percent limit, losing one point and dropping to three percent.

A current in buoyancy

However, one group is winning big. The newly founded party ‘Alliantie Sahra Wagenknecht (BSW)’ shot up – to 11.5 percent. The politician left the Left Party a few months ago and founded her own group.
