Storm ‘Isha’ has caused major disruption to air traffic over Great Britain in recent days. Several aircraft had to land at destinations other than those intended.

With wind speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour, ‘Isha’ raged across the British Isles on Sunday and Monday. As a result, dozens of flights had to be canceled or diverted – sometimes over long distances.

Many pilots attempted to land at the intended airport first before taking off and eventually landing at another airport in mainland Europe. Ryanair airline, based in Dublin, was particularly hard hit. A total of 166 flights had to be canceled on Sunday alone.

Others also experienced complications. More than 30 flights were diverted at Dublin Airport, and an equal number of flights had to abandon after numerous attempts to land and go to another destination.
