In Afghanistan, a plane has crashed in the northeast of the country, according to local authorities. The head of the media department of the Ministry of Information, Abdul Wahid Rayan, wrote on X on Sunday that the plane was on its way to Moscow. According to Russian information, the charter plane disappeared from radar. According to initial findings, the plane crashed due to an engine problem.
Moscow’s aviation authority Rosawiatsiya said on Sunday that a Russian-registered private Falcon 10 plane with six people on board had disappeared from radar. It said there were four crew members and two passengers flying from Goa, India, to Moscow. Rosawiazija says she is in contact with authorities in Afghanistan. The plane is being searched for.
Local officials said the plane crashed into a mountain in Badakhshan province, which borders Pakistan, Tajikistan and, to the far east, China. Meanwhile, rescuers rushed to the accident site.
