Hand of Donald Trump: Now it is clear where the mysterious spots come from

An American saying goes: if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it’s probably a duck. In other words: the simplest explanation for a phenomenon is often the correct one.

All dermatologists, doctors and self-appointed detectives who tried to interpret the red spots on the hand of Donald Trump (77) from a distance should take this to heart. A few days ago, he was on his way to one of his numerous court hearings, waving to his supporters outside – and showing off the distinctive red marks on his hand.

Skin rash or even syphilis?

An American dermatologist speculated that it could be a rash and that Trump may be washing his hands too often because of his fear of germs. Or the spots are blisters he may have gotten while playing golf. Others speculate that it could be syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease that causes a skin rash.

All wrong.

As “TMZ” has learned from several sources close to Trump, the reason is much more banal: it is blood from a cut Trump made on a paper. He accidentally spread the blood on his hand.

So it makes sense why the spots ‘mysteriously’ disappeared shortly after the photo was taken. Images a little later the same day show a waving Trump with hands as usual: at least physically there is no blood on them.

However, it is not entirely unreasonable to be concerned about Trump’s health. He repeatedly confuses people in his speeches, most recently Nikki Haley (52) with Nancy Pelosi (83) or Barack Obama (62) with Joe Biden (81).

The 77-year-old recently proudly announced to his audience that his memory is fantastic. Last week, he again boasted in the US state of New Hampshire that he had passed the cognitive test with flying colors during his term as president.

Trump invents laboratory animals

In a test he had to identify the drawings of three animals. “I think there were 35, 30 questions. They always show you the first question, e.g. B. a giraffe, a tiger or this or that – a whale. ‘Which one is the whale?’ Ah. And so it goes for three or four questions, and then it becomes more and more difficult.”

This is the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a test to detect the first signs of dementia. The Washington Post has now spoken to the inventor of the test. This one says: There was never a version with a whale. So why Trump talks about a whale remains his secret.

The test is not an IQ or intelligence test, even though Trump likes to suggest that it is. Jonathan Reiner, a cardiologist and professor of medicine and surgery at the George Washington School of Medicine & Health Sciences, says: “It’s a very low level for someone to have the codes for launching nuclear weapons, and certainly nothing to do . brag about.”
